The Trading Post is open!
Introducing the Trading Post and Marketplace
Crafting has always let you build something special. Now you can put it in another player's hands. The Trading Post and Marketplace are live. Players can send items to each other directly, or list them publicly for anyone to buy, all using in-game Credits.
What you can do
- Send any item from a character's inventory straight to another player.
- List items on the Marketplace for the whole community to browse and buy.
- Receive items into whichever character you choose.
- It works for any item, not just potions. Weapons, armor, cybernetics, programs, gear, and of course crafted and infused goods can all be traded.
The Trading Post
You will find the Trading Post in the character app's top navigation. It has three tabs:
- Inbox: items other players have sent directly to you, waiting for you to accept or decline.
- Marketplace: every public listing, ready to browse and buy.
- Sent & Listed: everything you have sent or listed, so you can track it or cancel it.
Sending an item to a player
Open a character's Equipment screen, find an item, and use the new Send button. Enter the recipient's username (it checks the name as you type, its at the TOP RIGHT of your screen!), set a price in Credits, or leave it at 0 to send it as a free gift. Add a note if you like, and send. The item leaves your character's inventory right away and is held safely until the trade is accepted, declined, or cancelled.
Listing on the Marketplace
Prefer to sell to anyone? Use the List button on an inventory item instead, set your price, and it goes up on the Marketplace for the whole community. You can browse the Marketplace from the character app's Trading Post or from Community > Marketplace on the website. Filter by category (Weapons, Armor, Potions, and every other equipment type), search by name, sort by price, and click any listing for full details: stats, effects, modifiers, and more, exactly as they appear on a character sheet.
Receiving and buying
When someone sends you an item directly, it lands in your Inbox. You review it and choose which of your characters receives it, or decline it and it goes straight back to the sender. Buying from the Marketplace is a single step: pick the character who pays and receives, and the item is delivered into their inventory. If an item has a price, the buying character pays those Credits and the seller's character receives them. If a character cannot afford an item, you will see that clearly before you commit to anything.
A note on Credits
Everything in the Trading Post and Marketplace uses in-game Credits, the fictional currency your characters earn through play. No real money is ever involved. Items and Credits cannot be bought, sold, or traded for real-world money. If anyone ever offers you a real-money deal, do not accept it, and please report it.
Where to find it
- Character app: the Trading Post in the top navigation.
- Send and List: buttons on every unequipped item on the Equipment screen.
- Website: Community > Marketplace.
What is next This is also the foundation for bigger things. A party system with a shared stash, and tools for Game Masters to hand items to the players in their games, are on the way. For now, go craft something worth trading. We cannot wait to see what the community builds, brews, and sells. ALSO A FRIENDS LIST!
