The Sylváeia

Long before the modern era of Adamah, long before the Sundering War or even industrialization, the art of vocal magic formed. In the depths of the Verdant Haven, sheltered by the Laimûl (Eldertree), the Silvanea Elves mastered this unique practice and harmonized their pitch to nature's resonance. Their mesmerizing songs could weave potent and unique magics that transcended the boundaries of the material and spiritual realms.

The songs of the Silvanea Elves called those from across Adamah to the Laimûl's comforting shadow, drawn to the beautiful and harmonious magic. Early worshipers of the six Ohros were the first to see this as not just magic, but as something tied to the very cadence of the universe and the beings that created it.

While some learned to weave their music with prayer, others saw these abilities as a way to connect and inspire those around them, and some found ways to use their song to manipulate reality. The possibilities of this arcane vocal art are vast. Whether it is to honor the Ohros or to make themselves center-stage, each Sylváeia has accepted their unique spotlight and will ensure they shine.

Voice of the Silvanea

“The Laimûl taught the Silvanea one supreme truth: a single perfect note can summon storms or still hearts. You have found that note—and each breath draws you closer to its full power.”

The First Harmonic

AP: 4 | CA | 1 ARC

You begin to channel the First Harmonic, an ancestral note of power that builds with each sustained breath.

Range: Self | Radius: Equal to your WAM.

You Concentrate on a single note as if it were a Spell, and cannot take any other Actions except Movement.

For every Round that you Concentrate you gain +1d4 Dice (Max equal to your Charm Modifier) of stored resonance.

Dice increases: Level 5 = 1d4, Level 8 = 1d8, Level 12 = 1d10, Level 16 = 1d12.

When you end Concentration you unleash the stored resonance in one of three effects, rolling the number of dice equal to your total dice built up.

Release the Harmonic

Reverberating Burst

All hostile creatures within the Radius take Sonic Damage equal to the total rolled and are Deafened until the end of their next Turn.

Rejuvenating Verse

Allies within the Radius regain HP equal to the total rolled and gain +2 m Movement Speed until the end of their next Turn.

Fortissimo Guard

Allies within the Radius gain THP equal to the total rolled and +1 to all Defense Rolls until the end of their next Turn.

Sylváeia Magic

Upon reaching level 2, you awaken your connection to the arcane forces that flow through the world. You gain the ability to learn and Weave Innate and Novitiate Spells.

Elements of Sylváeia Magic

When Weaving any Spell, or Verse for Heralds, you ignore all Elements except the Verbal Element.

Spell List Access

You may weave Innate and Novitiate Spells from the General Spell List.

Weaving Ability Modifier

Use Charm for Spell Effects, Encoding, and the Spell Loom.

Arcane Points (ARC)

Your ARC Pool: 5 + your Level + Intuition Modifier.

Memorized Spells

You may memorize a number of spells equal to: 4 + your Level + Charm Modifier.

Spell Weaving Check

Some spells require the target to roll against your Spell Weaving to determine if an effect takes hold or how strong the effect is. Targets must make a Defense Roll against your Spell Weaving: d20 + MAB.

Base Bracket Pool

At level 2, you gain one Feat from the Base Bracket Pool. At level 3, you gain a second. These Feats are categorized to support a variety of playstyles.

Defensive Feats

Glitter Shield

AP: 1 | R | 1 ARC

Duration: Beginning of your next Turn. Range: 5 m. You sing a quick note that grants an ally within Range +2 to their Defense Rolls for the Duration.

Siren’s Buff

Passive

Range: 1 m. When an ally is within Range they receive Resistance to Sonic Damage.

Offensive Feats

Ballad of Binding

AP: 2 | CA | 1 ARC

You weave your song into invisible chains. Duration: End of their next Turn. Range: 10 m. Force a target creature that you can see to make a Will Defense Roll against your Spell Weaving. On failure, they are Restrained for the Duration.

Resonant Aura

Passive

Range: Self | Radius: 2 m. Allies within the Radius gain +1 to Spell Attack Rolls and Spell Weaving Checks while you are not Incapacitated.

Vocal Intrigue

AP: 1 | QA

Range: 6 m. Choose a creature you can see within Range and the next attack against them gains +1.

Utility / RP / Mobility Feats

Amplify Magic

Passive

You may now spend ARC to Amplify the effects of Spells or Verses (if you become a Herald). See each spell’s description for any relevant effects of the Amplify Feat.

Charismatic Weaponry

AP: 2 | CA | 1 ARC

Duration: 2 Rounds. Choose a weapon you have Aptitude with. While active: add your Charm Modifier to your Attack and Damage Rolls with that weapon. The weapon is considered Magical and ignores Immunities and Resistance to Non-Magical Damage.

Charismatic Patterns

Passive

You may now roll your Aptitude Dice on any Charm-based Skill Check, even if you do not have Aptitude in that Skill.

Deep Breath

AP: 1 | QA | 1 Charge

You can regain ARC equal to your Charm Modifier.

Lullaby

1 Charge

If you choose to forgo a Full Short Rest you can instead grant one ally the ability to use it as a Long Rest.

Motivational Leap

AP: 1 | R

Range: 6 m. Sing an inspiring song and grant yourself or an ally within Range a +5 increase to Movement Speed or doubled jump distance until the end of the Round.

Aural Resonance

As you spend more time channeling your voice through the harmonic frequencies of the Eldertree, you begin to naturally resonate with the world around you. At times, your voice sings truths even before you fully understand them.

Passive: Gain +1 to your Cognition, Intuition, or Charm Ability Score.

You also select your second Feat from the Base Bracket Pool.

Harmonic Attunement

Choose one of the following attunements to reflect your deepening connection to Sylváeian resonance.

Melodic Instinct

Passive | 1 Charge

You gain +1 to Initiative Rolls. Once per Long Rest, when you roll a natural 1 on an Attack Roll, Spell Weaving Check, or Skill Check, you may re-roll it.

Resonant Empathy

AP: 1 | R

When an ally within 1 m is reduced to 0 HP, you may lend them your HP to keep them alive. They will remain at 1 HP but you will take any damage meant for them until the start of their next Turn.

Dissonant Note

AP: 1 | R

Once per Round, when you deal Sonic Damage to a creature they become Vulnerable to Sonic Damage until the start of their next Turn.
